What Can YOU Do About It?

Students....It's YOUR Money!

Each year, every college student pays "athletic fees" as part of their overall tuition. That money goes directly towards funding their school's athletic programs. Although schools receive money from sponsors and other sources, according to a study by Jack Copeland, student fees also clearly are contributing more to revenues than ever before. Average revenues from student fees increased by 30 percent at Division I-A institutions, 22 percent in Division I-AA and 8 percent in Division I-AAA. In Division II, they increased 17 percent at football-playing institutions and 27 percent at institutions that do not play football. Therefore, students are primary stakeholders in their school's athletic program. If the students are not satisfied with the system, then they have all the right and power to demand a change.

"Whatever the merits of increasing institutional funding of athletics, we probably should remember that it essentially is students who are providing these additional revenues, either directly through fees or indirectly as funds are transferred to athletics from other areas of the university that serve those students." "Maybe students complain about it; maybe they don't. But that's not discretionary spending for students; that's tuition."

If we, the students, can rally together, then we can gain vital support from our administrations, community, politicians and businesses that constitute for the rest of the secondary stakeholders in NCAA football. For over 10 years the BCS has established itself as a biased voting practice that has resulted in disappointment among college football fans all across America. We can unite as the collective voice of the millions of college students whose tuition fees go towards supporting Football Programs and create a snowball effect that leads to change.

How To Help:

This site provides ready-made petitions and flyers that fans can use to gather signatures and promote this site around campus and at games to advocate for a playoff system. We also have created a following on Facebook and Twitter to help bring attention to our cause. The power of the media is essential to a successful campaign. Encourage your friends to join the site and social networking groups. Bring your questions and ideas to the forums to generate discussion. Contact your school administrators, student body presidents, newspapers and TV news sations, and spread the word about the site and the movement. Help us by becoming a leader on your campus and in your community and let's bust up the BCS before your team becomes its next victim.
