MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of BCS Busters is to advocate the change for a playoff system to be used in the NCAA football postseason. We are an alliance of college students dedicated to rebelling against the highly elusive and biased BCS by providing an avenue for committed college students and football fans to express their dissatisfaction with the media and questionable computer software controlling the ranks of college football teams. Together, we will use our opinions, ideas, and financial power to implement the change desperately needed in determining which college teams will compete for a national championship. This movement will restore the true meaning of the word champion and strengthen pride among NCAA football teams and fans.
Every college football fan can recall a time when his or her team was unfairly snubbed during the postseason. When that happens, fans can only wait for the next season to start in hopes that their team gets a decent preseason ranking from the same system that cheated them during bowl season. College football fans are tired of letting the coaches, the media, and questionable computer software tell them who is the best of the best. Instead, the true champion should be decided on the field instead of behind closed doors. An open playoff system is the only viable solution.
The BCS must be busted! For that to happen, those with the power must fight to change the system. Players, coaches, administrations, and most importantly students and fans must rally together to demand change! We have created a variety of letters and e-mails that college students can send to their university's President and Athletic Director. This site also provides ready-made petitions so that fans can gather signatures around campus and at games to advocate for a playoff system. We also have created a following on Facebook and Twitter to help bring attention to our cause. The power of the media is essential to a successful campaign. We must be loud, we must be seen, and we must be strong! Help us by becoming a leader on your campus and in your communities and let's bust up the BCS before your team becomes its next victim.
We, the students and fans, need to restore the true meaning of the word champion within NCAA Football.
